JC Rowe’s Custom Xsjado Strap-Setup

As you saw in my V-cut tutorial, I always cut my skates to open up a new range of motion. This new concept I’ve got has been working really well at fixing one problem I’ve always had with my Xsjados and thats having the strap mounted to the tongue and feeling those bolts when I wear my skates tight.

Here you see the V-cut I already did. I unmounted the middle double-loop holder since it pokes my foot. Now while the idea with having it mounted is to keep the straps from leaning side to side, unfortunately I also lose any up-n-down movement and feel restriction when jumping. Since the v-cut allows me to jump easier I needed a strap set-up that moved and I also wanted to get some more support in the front since the stock tongue seems pretty weak.

It’s super simple, just a decapitated version of my old Xsjado’s tongue. I mount the leather double loop to this tongue piece and I’ve created an extra pad so I don’t feel bolts in my shin when I strap my skates on super tight.

Besides making my skates a lot more comfortable, this also adds more support to the top section of my skates (where I felt I need it the most).

…comfy …comfy

They strap in the same, but feel so much better.

All closed up, lots of front support.

All strapped up they don’t appear much different, people have only noticed the extra pad if they see me putting on/ taking off my skates… but everyone always says…
“Damn, that’s a good idea.”
…soo, in advance, you’re welcome.
xoxo -JC

Def love all your xsjado customs. The simple things that make a big difference.

Why doesnt xsjado get jc a pro model featureing his custom setup, so that people dont have to hack their own skates. That would be the sickest xsjado to date.

I really like the look of these Xsjado’s and the modification is a good idea to add some extra support and padding… When will Xsjado just make the v-cut and extra padding part of the design?

The Damien’s have a v-cut.
And for there to be a JC pro model, JC would have to be on Xsjado’s team first…

Another way to fix the screw problem. Is to open them up and add extra padding. Like i added a modified sock to the front and its PERFECT!
